The
revision and further perfection based on the original brilliant
model has led to the "Challenger II Elaboration Series"
The Challenger construction concept
became theme and melody for the Vogtländische Musikinstrumentenfabrik
GmbH. In Bach Memorial Year the craftsmen and masters of the
Vogtland region worked hard on drawing from this "invention"
every conceivable variation and combination in terms of harmony,
melodics, counterpoint and rhythm. Just the same way as the
great Johann Sebastian Bach also did with a few bars of a melody.
This is hard work - a trouble that an industrial manufacturer
would never have gone through, neither a mediocre composer.
Bach and Vogtländische Musikinstrumentenfabrik GmbH, however,
continued to work up to the moment in which a gigantic composition
had developed from a simple, little melody. So Vogtländische
Musikinstrumentenfabrik GmbH adopted the Challenger melody and
created the Elaboration. The world elaboration, describes this
process very exactly: create and achieve something through hard
work. This process is like changing the initial spark into a
blazing fire with flames of displacing everything else.

The Bb- trumpet 3138/2 Challenger
Elaboration is the choice for the jazz, rock and pop musicians
who occasionally have to prevail against amplified guitars.
With a bore ML 0.459 inches and a lighter bell with a diameter
of 4.782 inches, this model has already brought successes in
field experiences: It can be seen every evening in the Late
Night Show of NBC because it is played by Mark Pender, who is
a member of the NBC band. But he also uses the instrument during
his loud rock´n´roll gigs with Bruce Springsteen
and "Southside Jonny and the Jukes". He confirmed,
that the instrument proved the ability to cut through against
the volume of guitars in front of an enormous audience of thousands
of people
