30 years after the original introduction of Adamas, Ovation are
honouring Charlie Kaman’s innovative guitars with some new USA-made
reissues. One of the first of the limited edition Adamas guitars
is model U681T-5. Though nowadays we’re well used to predominantly
cutaway body Ovation guitars, many traditionalists have a fondness
for the rounded tone of the full-bodied Adamas version. This U681T-5
‘12-fret to the body’ Adamas had all the makings of a world-class,
high end acoustic/electric guitar. Acoustically, the shorter scale
length and deep non-cutaway body gave this guitar a wide open
tone with exceptional volume and clarity. Check out, too, the
attractive classically influenced slotted headstock design on
this Adamas.
The Adamas II with its cutaway body design is an accurate recreation
of the classic Adamas model played by countless touring musicians
over the past 30 years.
