Berg originally made his name as a professional musician and
whilst not working, he could be found making reeds in Archer
Street London. In 1945, he designed and manufactured a range
of ebonite mouthpieces for Clarinet and Saxophone which later
evolved into a range made out of stainless steel for an increased
lifespan. Although Berg died in 1972, his name lives on. Berg
Larsen mouthpieces still offer a wide variety of mouthpieces
in various different materials and styles whilst still employing
the same traditional manufacturing methods.
GRAINED EBONITE is a superior
grade ebonite with a beautiful grained effect. This mouthpiece
has a warm tone with a generally round sound.
BLACK EBONITE (hard
rubber) is the traditional material for mouthpieces and has
been used since the very beginning .
BRONZE with the advent of new
casting techniques, it is now possible to manufacture mouthpieces
from Bronze which is widely used for bells and cymbals because
of its resonant qualities. It is also particularly resistant
to tarnishing and extremely hard wearing. The insert is made
from attractive grained ebonite.
STAINLESS STEEL First introduced
in 1998 the initial production was immediately sold. A new
concept in mouthpiece which performs in the studio as well
as on stage. Sweet and pure its free blowing qualities will
give you the volume you want and the edge you need.
Available in the original Bronze and now Stainless Steel
DUCK BILL - Yes its back. After
